Dr. Benchimol specializes in the treatment and assessment of pediatric digestive disorders. His clinical expertise includes children with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis). His research team, which uses Ontario’s health administrative data housed at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, is working with the Ontario Crohn’s and Colitis Cohort to evaluate how effectively the health system treats patients with inflammatory bowel disease, or IBD. He also conducts clinical trials and observational studies, and has an interest in the methods used to conduct research using health administrative data.
