CIRN Trainee Seminar Series
The CIRN Training and Education Committee (TEC) hosts a monthly Seminar Series for trainees involved with CIRN featuring expert presenters on a variety of topics related to immunization. The seminars take place the third Thursday of each month and are open for all trainees involved with CIRN, regardless of whether they receive funding through CIRN.

Presenter Bios:
Dr. Jeff Kwong – Dr. Kwong is a senior scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES), and at Public Health Ontario.
Dr. Kwong is also a family physician at the Toronto Western Family Health Team, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. His research interests include infectious diseases epidemiology and health services research using linkable data, influenza vaccine and vaccination program evaluation, and assessing the burden of infectious diseases.
Dr. Shannon MacDonald – Dr. MacDonald is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing and an adjunct in the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta, and an adjunct in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Calgary. Her applied immunization research program crosscuts epidemiology and the social sciences, focusing on immunization practice and policy.
